Former Partners' Lounge
|
With over eight offices all over the Philippines, as of 2007, SGV had over 1,800 professionals from various disciplines, including CPA's, Lawyers, economists, HR experts, engineers, statisticians, financial analysts and other technical experts in their ranks. You would expect many of them to reach high level management positions -and even partnership- at some time or another.
Atalyer was commissioned by SGV top brass to design a lounge that could be dedicated to Former Partners, who at times drop by the HQ for a myriad of reasons. Since people have been their most important asset all these decades, it is no wonder that the company's commitment to them reaches out to the point they become Former Partners.
The space was meant to be an area that catered to the varied and sporadical needs of the visiting Former Partner. Catching up on email, killing time between meetings or catching up on the news. Former Partners are meant to use this room for all of these basic needs without feeling they are wasting their lives in someone's reception or squatting at someone else' workspace.
Our studio thought about it as a Business Lounge at an international terminal, but without the impersonality. The 80sqm space was divided into the basic spaces any Former Executive is expected to need: a dry pantry, a shared workspace, a conference table and a main lounge.
Features and bespoke details are placed around the Lounge to appeal to the sensibilities of the veteran executive: plush leather couches, exquisitely crafted hard-wood furniture and indirect lighting. Local fibers, textures and colors were added to bring a sense of home. Our studio is grateful for the magical intervention of seasoned Interior Designer, Clarisse Chiongbian.
The SGV art collection and personal belongings of SGV founder Washington SyCip adorn the meeting room and remind all visitors of the steadfast and
time-tested values that are part of their brand promise.
The conference table was designed by Industrial Designer Abegail Castillo from Atalyer and is wired for voice & data.
Hardwood is of sustainable harvest in the USA.
